Vance Nodin Interview

As promised I’ve got an interview with Vance Nodin, the hero from the book Elemental Desires: Storm Chasing. Vance is based on an actor/model named Jay Tavare. I first saw him in Escape to Grizzly Mountain and again in Cold Mountain and I knew this was the perfect man to “be” Vance.

Anyway without further ado here is the interview with Vance…

DC: Good Afternoon Vance and thank you so much for taking time to sit down with me today.

VN: I’m glad to be here. So I understand you’ve talked to Storm?

DC: Yes actually I have. But today we want to know all about you. So you’re what is called a storm chaser?

VN: (Grins) Yes and lately I’ve been chasing Storm pretty hard.

DC: (Laughs) Well we’re going to talk about the other kind of storms. What made you decide to be a storm chaser? It seems like a dangerous hobby.

VN: It’s not a hobby. And it’s not for novices. Chasing storms can be extremely dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing. What made me want to be a storm chaser? When I was a kid the warnings didn’t come out in time and I lost a cousin in a terrible tornado that came through. I decided then and there we needed a better alert system and I’ve been working with my partner Heidi Fingerhoffer and Mike Dale to develop the system. We’re so close! We received funding from a company called Chandler and Dowden.

DC: Congratulations on your progress.

VN: Thank you.

DC: So tell us a little about your family?

VN: I have one sister and my parents. My sister is a nurse over at a hospital in Oklahoma City and my parents live in the house I grew up in over in Tahlequah.

DC: And now how about we talk a little bit about Storm.

VN: (a smile practically splits his face) Storm is an amazing woman. She’s funny, sexy, intelligent, and an amazing lover.

DC: Ahem, yes.

VN: Sorry I get carried away when I talk about my favorite subject. Anyway, I adore the time I spend with Storm. I just feel like there is some secret she’s keeping from me. You wouldn’t happen to know what it is, would you?

DC: I’m afraid that is between you and Storm. So what does the future hold for Vance and Storm?

VN: I’m not really sure. I mean right now I’m really busy with this alert system. But I’ll tell you something. Storm is one woman I could see myself settling down with, like for the rest of my life.

DC: That’s wonderful!

VN: I hate to cut this short but I need to get back to work. We’re going to be testing the new system and I really need to be there.

DC: I understand completely. Thank you again for your time. Good luck with the system and may you find happiness!

VN: (peck’s DC on the cheek) You’re welcome. I’ll see you later!

At this point Vance walked out of my office and got into his black SUV. I really am grateful he could take a few minutes and talk to me.

Well that’s all for today. I’ve got a couple of projects that need my attention.
I’ll see you all again soon!
Huggles and Happy Reading,
Donica
