Long and Busy day

I just now got to where I could sit and do my daily computer work. I've been running all day long with a neighbor and we had a great time! We went to massage, lunch, and then did some shopping at Michael's. I got more beads....Like I needed more beads! LOL I guess I should explain...

I have a weakness for beads, any kind of beads: crystal, glass, stone, silver, gold, etc. And I love making beaded book thongs. So I started buying beads for the thongs, but I couldn't stop. I need to find a BA (Beads Anon) somewhere so I can proudly stand and say "Hello, my name is Donica and I'm a bead addict". I've made over 200 beaded thongs in the last 6 months. I also make necklaces, bracelets and earrings. Anyway, I got more beads today and some findings so I can make a couple of pairs of earrings. I had to get the beads I got today, there was no help for it, honest! I was going to wear a necklace over this past weekend. One I've never worn before because it doesn't have matching earrings, (another quirk of mine) so I couldn't wear the necklace. This necklace is made up of several strands of turquoise, a strand of peridot, a couple of strands of garnet and more strands of turquoise. These strands are then all twisted together forming a large choker type neckalce. In the center is a huge flower shaped garnet pendant with turquoise dots on it. I LOVE this necklace, but I've had it for over four years and have never worn it. So today I found beads that, while not exactly the same, are garnet and they have the turquoise, and peridot colors on them. Wrapped in silver bale, they match my necklace perfectly! So guess what I'm wearing to Thanksgiving?? LOL

Anyway, enough of that, today's Did You Know is some trivia from Sabrina the Teen Age Witch:

The ZIP code for Sabrina's town of Westbridge, Massachusetts is 01970, the same ZIP code for Salem, Massachusetts, the "Witch City."

In the living room of Sabrina's college dorm was a street sign for Ashmont Terrace. Ashmont was the production company that William Asher and Elizabeth Montgomery had during the last few seasons of "Bewitched" (1964).

Sabrina's address is 113 Collins Road. This is a reference to "Dark Shadows" (1966), the Gothic ghosts and witchcraft series which featured the witch Angelique Bouchard and the Collins Family

In the episode "Pancake Madness," Hilda is transferred back to the northern part of the Other Realm after not filling out her immigration papers. The northern part of the Realm is a lot like Canada: cold and snowy, hockey is being watched on TV, and on the wall beside the phone are pictures of Canadian stars. Even the way Hilda talks in 'Canadian'. This is actually because the actress who plays Hilda, Caroline Rhea, is from Canada.

Ok all for today's DYK installment.

Get this!

I have to share this incident with you all. Last year I was plotting a book involving a woman who worked as an aide to a Senator, in the Capitol building and her military fiance. In the story the building would be attacked by terrorists. This idea was dropped due to the horrible times we live in and the fact that people read to escape this kind of thing. But I hadn't dropped it before I'd done quite alot of research on bomb making, terroists and the Capitol building itself. I made joking comments that I was probably flagged as some to be watched due to my research. But I'd dropped it and it was done.

Last night I started receiving emails that were marked return address from the cia.gov and fbi.gov. When I opened these emails it stated that my ISP had been flagged because of the over 40 visits I'd made to illegal websites. I beagn to sweat, shake and panic! Was this for real?? It said I needed to fill out a questionaire and send it back ASAP. Fearing for my freedom, I tried to open the file...my compute refused to open it. I really panicked! How was I supposed to do this if I couldn't open the file? I decided to go to the CIA and FBI websites to see if I could email them and ask them what I'd done. Then I found a press release from the FBI on Yahoo news. Seems that this is a scam (whew!) Neither agency sends out this type of letter (I guess that means if they see something they don't like they just come and drag your happy butt away until its been cleared up, right?) If you receive this email you are supposed to complete a form for the IFCC. Seems that if you open the file, it sends out some kind of virus or worm into your system and we all know how much fun those infections are! So I spent part of last evening copying the properties of the senders addy into a file and then filling out the forms to report them. Basically what I'm saying is, BE CAREFUL! As our spyware and virus blocker increases in ability so do the idiots who send out the viruses get smarter!

Something else to add:

My mom's a nurse who works for the local health department, she's a child with special needs liason, she makes home visits to her kids and tries to help the families work with the kids to keep them healthy and give them a good shot at life. One of her clients is a sweet young man who just graduated high school, and while he is wheelchair bound and suffers with a body that doesn't always cooperate he has a shiningly BRILLIANT mind. He's now out of school and at a loss of what to do with himself. He wants a job desperately, and his computer skills in testing were remarkably high. He wants to do webdesign work, and I've decided to see if there isn't some way we can help him out. I'd like to have the ones of you who are interested in getting some web design work give me a shout either here or at my email and let me know that you would be interested. Then I'll get in touch with Andy and see about getting samples sent out.

I guess that's all I have time for today. I hope to hear from you all soon! Happy Reading!

Huggles,
Donica
