Happy Monday

Thanksgiving is in only a couple of days and I'm a little disappointed about this year. I'd hoped to be spending the holiday with my folks down in Arkansas, but unfortunately this isn't going to happen. But we will be spending it with my Sister in Law, as per my daughter's request. So no ATVing and trail hiking, but we'll manage to have a good time anyway.

Last week's Did You Know were kind of depressing, dark issues so I thought this week we'd do something fun. We're going to look at Sabrina the Teenage witch for a little while. As I've said before, my witch series idea grew from my love Bewitched and Sabrina and the movie I Married a Witch. So this topic is going to be fun for me also.

Ok Did You Know that while some people thought Sabrina was a take off inspired by the series Bewitched but it was actually based on a character from Archie Comics, (the comics I beleive I read came way before the Bewitched series but I could be wrong.)

Sabrina, the Teenage Witch is the name of a series published byArchie Comics about the adventures of a teenager named Sabrina Spellman. Sabrina, who's really a witch (or a half-witch—her mother was a "mortal", as the comics called ordinary humans, while her father was a warlock), lives with her two aunts, Hilda and Zelda (both witches themselves), in the fictional town of Greendale, which was located somewhere near Riverdale, the home of Archie Andrews. Also living with the three women was the family pet, Salem the cat.
Most of Sabrina's adventures consist of Sabrina either trying to use her powers in secret (witches generally not being allowed to tell mortals about their abilities), learning more about her powers (either through her aunts or from trips to the "Other Realm," an extradimensional plane that was the home of various magical creatures, including witches), or trying to deal with the day-to-day trials of being a teenager. Sabrina also has a (mortal) boyfriend named Harvey Kinkle, who like nearly all the other mortals in Sabrina's world, is unaware his girlfriend is a witch.
Sabrina also occasionally appears in other Archie Comics as a visiting acquaintance of Archie, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, and Jughead Jones.

Stay tuned for more trivia about Sabrina this week.

My friend Becca recieved the covers for her new Wolverine series and I have to say they are FABULOUS!! The first book, The Wolverine and the Rose is now available from New Age Dimensions I hope you'll check them out. If you like the fantasy romance type of novels these are for you. Rebecca has been compared with Tolkein and Jordan in her writing style so she is definately a writer to watch!
