1 Vacations. I love to take trips. Road trips! I love to get behind the wheel of my truck and just drive. I’m a horrible passenger but I love to drive!
2 Going to the farm. One of my favorite vacations is spending time on my grandparents’ farm in Arkansas. I have a cozy little trailer that is my “summer” house where I can go to get away from everything and everyone. The great thing about this place is there is no phone, no computer, no television (unless I bring mine) No radio, (again unless I lug one there) I’m completely cut off from the outside world. Of coursed there is a neighbor across the highway, a deputy sheriff down the lane, but we’re all just spaced far enough apart that I can be alone when I want. Of course my cell phone gets great reception there so I can’t say I’m sorry I missed your call! LOL
3 Swimming. In the creek, the river, the local pool, at my aunt’s house. Just swimming! I love the water. I’m not an Olympic gold medallist or anything but O can do well enough to keep from drowning and I can keep an eye on the kids so.
4 Sun tanning. Or sunbathing, or whatever you call it. I call it heaven. I’m a sun freak. By this time of year I’ve already usually gotten my base color down and am gradually building to a perfect gold. The weather hasn’t cooperated this year so far but as soon as it does I’m not going to be around much!
5 Barbecues. Porksteaks, ribs, chicken, steaks, ham steaks. Light up the grill, toss on your favorite meat and sit back while it sizzles. I don’t care for the chicken on the grill but that’s me. My DH and I have never waited for the spring/summer to bbq. We’ve sat outside in the snow listening to the meat sizzle and pop. No pesky bugs when you do it that way, but who wants to listen to someone whose teeth are chattering?
6 Watermelon. Thick, red, sticky juice runs down your face, spitting seeds, watermelon. Is there anything better than sitting in the afternoon shade eating melon and seeing who can seed spit the farthest?
7 Hiking. Again you can do this in the winter. But why? The animals will all be moving about so you have a better chance of seeing nature in the wild. Just watch your step. There are snakes out there.
8 Picnics. Sitting at the park, under the shade of the trees listening to the delighted shouts of children filling the air and drowning out the sounds of birds…wait; this is supposed to be good right? LOL Kidding, for the most part HEHEHEE
9 Going to the zoo. I was in high school…college before I’d ever gone to the zoo. I’d always hated the idea of those poor animals being locked in cages. They were denied their natural life and forced to be on display for the pleasure of the human race. Yeah I know get over yourself. I did. I mean the zoos raised most of the animals there! They are the ones helping to keep the species around. And most people will never see a lion in its natural habitat. At least in the zoo the elephants don’t have to get poached for their ivory or the whole lie about the culling process governments would have you believe. (Yeah don’t get me started about culling!)
10 Going to Grant’s Farm. It’s an AMAZING place! The Anheiser (I know I can’t spell the name!) Busch Clydesdales are bred there. And each spring there is usually one lovely little one on display. The place is great. You ride on this train that takes you through the park and the animals aren’t really in cages. They are free roams (but secure in the fenced enclosure) and you get to watch them eat, or run or what ever. I can’t wait to go back again!
11 Shorts. Love to wear them. Just as stirrup pants and over OVER large flannel shirts are my winter wardrobe, shorts and lightweight tees are my summer.
12 Roses. My rose bushes begin to bloom and spread filling the place with color and sweet fragrance.
13 Open windows. Throwing open those sashes and letting the fresh air circulate through a house that has been closed and dark for the past few months.
So what are your favorite things about this time of year?

I love the blue skies and moderate temperatures. I also love the blooming cherry trees and lovely flowers all over my neighborhood. So colorful and gorgeous. :)

Thanks for visiting my TT!
Sounds so great. It's autumn down here in New Zealand. I've had to put my shorts away and get out my track pants to keep warm.
BBQ, Watermelon and Roses! My three favorites!
Oh how I love roses! I would say I'm addicted. I just keep buying them. We only moved in two years ago and i have 13 bushes. They took one heck of a hit this spring when we had a late hard freeze, but they are finally about to bloom! I can't wait! I have to say I love Arkansas too. (most of it anyway) :D That's why I call it home. hehe
