Happy Birthday Colton!

Today is usually wordless Wednesday, but today my baby boy is 19. I can’t believe how much has changed over the years. He’s grown and I do miss his little feet running through the house asking questions, taking things apart just to see how they work (man did we have to replace a TON of electronics!) But now he’s an adult and looking back makes me feel so old. Still he’s growing into a fine young man, one I can be proud to say is my son. So please join me as i take a trip back in time.

Isn't he adorable?!!!

He was such a good baby!

His first horsey ride. He's about 2 months old in this picture. I was sure he'd be a cowboy!

He really got snacks, honest!

Again he's having a ride on our Georgia Belle
Ignore the blond poodle. I was having a bad hair day!

He's always loved riding. EVERYTHING! Here he is with his Papa. This was also the day he got his first dirt bike.

All right so technically its a minibike, but it was great fun for him anyway!
From here on we skip around a few years!

Dont they look excited?

Here he is 16 with his uncle Scott

He's 17 and at a convention called Archon. Dont ask me, I just look at the pictures!

Sometimes he hangs around with a wild crew

Then again, most aren't so bad!

Guess he has a touch of cowboy in him after all!

Despite his love of being wild and carefree he does clean up nicely!

Now he has a girl.
(At least this one is sweet!)

Dear Colton,

I fell in love with you the day you were born. I looked into those deep blue eyes and I found myself drowning in a sea of happiness. I counted each finger and toe, just to be sure there were ten, and then I counted them again.

The day you learned to walk was both a happy and sad one. Walking showed your independence, but also reminded me that one day you’d walk out of my life. The day you spoke your first word I was thrilled. You learned how to use the words that brought joy and some pain.

Time has past so fast, it never slows for any tears of joy or tears of woe. It’s been so hard for me to sit back and watch you make mistakes but I knew you had to learn life’s lessons on your own.
There have been times that you’ve broken my heart, but the love was always there and we always got a fresh start.

You’re becoming a man, but to me you’ll always be my little boy. I’ll be with you when you have hard times, I’ll help you be strong. When ever you need me I’ll be there, with a shoulder to cry on or a word to share.

And when I’m gone from this world we’ll never be apart. I know I’ll always live on in your heart.

Love Always
Mom
