I decided to give this Thursday Thirteen thing a try. I've seen it on several websites of friends and so I figured what the heck! For my first Thursday Thirteen I'm going to do my favorite movies 1. Bangor Sisters. This movie reminds me of my best friend and myself. No we weren't concert rockstar doing tramps...we did have some interesting adventures though! It helps to remind me that no matter how old I get I can still cut loose and enjoy life. 2.Bringing Up Baby. Katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant. Hello! Excellent pairing! I adore Katherine Hepburn anyway and let's admit it, Cary Grant was one sexy dude! I'd have let my leopard escape just to spend time with the man myself! 3. Arsenic and Old Lace. Again Cary Grant! He's gone home to visit his old maiden aunts right after being married only to discover his aunts are more than the sweet little dears everyone thinks they are. The old ladies "help" old gentlemen on their way to the grave. In a house where his brother thinks he's Teddy Roosevelt, another brother is a murdering fiend and the sweet but somewhat dimwitted aunts are in the middle. This is a hilarious movie! 4. Topper. Cary Grant (noticing a theme?) is a ghost. He and his wife have been killed in an auto accident and to get to heaven they have to do a good deed. Their good dead just happens to be a stuffy old Banker named Cosmo Topper. 5. CATS the musical. I received the anniversary edition on DVD from my brother for my birthday and I've played it almost a dozen times since it arrived. If you haven't seen it you should! It's based on a poem called "Old Possums Book of Practical Cats." There is a character in the musical, RumTumTugger who just amazes me! He's lanky, lean and kind of sexy! And the chance to hear Elaine Page belt out Memory is AWESOME! I was able to see the musical performed live at the Fox Theater here in lovely downtown St. Louis back in December. Yet another opportunity that shouldn't be missed! 6. Rocky Horror Picture Show. Tim Curry. This is not just a movie, it's an experience. When theaters actually showed this movie I went regularly. I don't know why no one shows this any more! It's a cult classic! Sure you can watch it on video or DVD but you don't get the full experience until you've seen it at the theater. The live action going on up at the stage in front of the screen. The devirginization of the firstimers. The games, the fun. The audience participation all work together to get you swept into the moment. I wish they'd show it here again! 7. Anything with the Dewayne "The Rock" Johnson. Walking Tall. Scorpion King. The Rundown. Need I explain why? The man is HOT!!!!! 8. The Mummy. The Mummy Returns. Brendan Fraser and Oded Fehr. Enough said. 9. The Pacifier. Vin Diesel. Again, 'nuff said. 10. Failure to Launch. How to Loose a Guy in 10 Days. The Wedding Planner. Basically anything with Matthew McConahottie! 11. Sweet Home Alabama. Reese is an amazing actress. The story line is awesome and the rekindling of the love is so sweet! I could watch this one again and again and again! 12. Man of the House. Tommy Lee Jones. Great movie! Watching him go from a hard nosed Texas Ranger who doesn't seem to have any emotions to showing him loving and being a caring person is great. Excellent comedic spots! 13. Monster in Law. I can't STAND that nasty Jane Fonda but fortunately the rest of the cast carried the movie on along well. They should've gotten a real actress to play the part of the mother in law, but it's still a movie worth watching despite its handicap. Links to other Thursday Thirteens! 1. Rebecka Goings 2. Donna 3. Tricia Jones 4. (DO a Thursday Thirteen?? Leave comments and link in my comment section and I’ll add you here!) |

I like older movies. You really stirred some memories by mentioning "Topper". When I was a kid, there was a TV series based on the movie "Topper". I loved that show!
I'm pretty new at the Thursday 13 also. I did my first one last week.
Hi Donica, I did my first TT this week as well!
Love Arsenic and Old Lace, especially when CG keeps telling the aunts "you can't do that, dear" - hilarious!
The Mummy films would be in my TT of great movies, too.
Great list!
