The End is near…

The end of the year 2006 that is. Can you believe how fast it has sped by? Last year’s Christmas was nothing to write home about. DH, our DD and I had the creeping crud something fierce! So we had to miss the family activities. This year will be different (I hope!).

Is everyone experiences this weird weather? A week ago today and the entire past weekend the temperatures were in the high 60s and a couple of days we hit low 70s! Today the temp hit 32 and is rapidly dropping, as is the rain that has turned the roads into ice a hockey rink would be proud of! We’re expected to get snow to go on top of this. I’m not at all happy to see winter finally arrive. The mild and unseasonably warm temps have spoiled me.

Well on the book front the anthology, Stocking Stuffers that includes Dear Micah will be relased December 15th. In honor of this I’m running a contest, but please note the dates of this contest. The start date is December 2nd and will run until December 20th. To enter the contest go to my website, www.donicacovey.com select the videos page. Watch the video trailer for Dear Micah. At the end of the video is the title of the song and who performs it. Email me at donicacovey@sbcglobal.net and tell me the title and the performer. All entries will be placed in a hat and the winner will be selected announced after Christmas.

What will you win? A set of hot pads with matching dishtowels and clothes, a Jingle Baby Beanie Baby, a book thong, and a special gift.

The holiday parties kick off this Saturday for me and mine so I’m going to be incredibly busy baking and decorating special cakes, creating holiday messes…err I mean meals, finishing the gift shopping and beginning and ending the wrapping. I’m just so ready for this to end!

As most of my regulars know I’ve got a twisted holiday sense. My Cryptkeeper Christmas Cds, my silly songs in place of everyone else’s traditional tunes. I keep my offices decorated in a Halloween theme all year round. Well this year I had the addition of a talking/singing skeleton skull. He now resides on top of my computer tower and he is all ready for the holidays. His Santa cap all secured in place and his tray is all ready for the Christmas candy!

Well more baking calling for me so I have to fly. (My broom will be easily spotted. It’s all decked out in Christmas lights…)

Huggles until next time!
Donica
