I’m only hopping on for a couple of minutes to share with you a book I read by a friend of mine. Let me just say that even though Valerie Parv is a friend if I thought her book wasn’t good I wouldn’t be putting its info up on my blog.
Valerie has the title of Australia’s Queen of Romance and this title is well deserved! I was lucky enough to get to meet Ms. Parv through my online writers group, the Bats and at first I was ginormously intimidated. I’d only read one of her books but I knew there were more out there. With her amazing talent it made me a little uneasy trying to chat with her. I came to learn that she is one of the sweetest, kindest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. I hope one day to be able to talk in person, but until that day I love the emails we all exchange.
Ok I digress. I was at the store and found her newest title, Desert Justice. I picked it up and unfortunately had to wait until I had the time to open the book. It was so engrossing I couldn’t put it down until I’d read from cover to cover. WOW! Amazing! I can’t find a word that quite fits the read, none of them are exactly accurate.
I was completely lost in the desert, falling in love with Sheik Markaz al Nazaari and rooting for him and Simone Hayes all the way. I could picture the country of Nazzaar thanks to the vivid descriptions that Ms. Parv used to paint the scenes down to the smallest detail. The open market shops with spices filling the air, the desert, all absolutely stunning.
Of course I shouldn’t be surprised. I’ve got most of her titles and I haven’t found a disappointing one in the bunch.
I’ve spouted off long enough, my family is waiting but I just had to come here and rave about this book. ANOTHER WINNER VALERIE!!!
Huggles until next time,
Donica
