Party time

Gee it seems as if the last couple of weeks has been magic for some of my writing friends! There are many, MANY recent releases:

My fellow Belfrite, Rae came out on May 23rd and already it is receiving rave reviews. The last Thing I Expected:

A man who thought he had life figured out…just met a woman who proved him wrong! Kindergarten teacher Grace Adams wants to turn over a new leaf. She’s hoping a new school and a new apartment will de-magnetize the loser magnet she seems to possess. According to a student’s mother, she’s cursed. All it would take is a simple ceremony, some friends and a teeny-tiny bonfire in a coffee can to shake it… Within a few moments her apartment is engulfed in smoke, her fire alarm is blaring, and she can’t stop laughing because she really should have known better. The next thing she knows someone is busting through her door to “save the day”. That someone is firefighter Eddie Mancilla. He has one thing on his mind—fire chief. It’s been a family tradition for generations. He’s not about to jeopardize it for his former high-school crush. Eddie doesn’t believe in curses or have time to rekindle a relationship with Grace. But as the reunion combusts, Eddie has to douse a lot more than structure fires, now he has to quench the fire he has blazing for Grace. Once they unite it’s going to be a four-alarm situation. Grace is under his skin and unfortunately her bad luck seems to have spread…. to him!
Another batty Belfrite, Lyn Cash had two releases Just Desserts as Lyn, and any day now will see the release of Leaving Mama as Bobbie Cole:

Just Desserts By Lyn Cash

Marilyn can't help but fantasize about best-selling cookbook author Jackson Delacroix. So far, she's only seen his book jacket photos and heard his sexy Creole accent over the phone—after all, she is his editor—but she'll get to meet him in person soon enough.Jack is furious when he finds out that his editor has signed him up for a cooking contest. He's also frantic. The contest is in three days, and the famous cookbook author can't cook—doesn't know a burger from beef flambĂ©. He's mad enough to tell Marilyn to take the contest and shove it, but one look at her and he's got better ideas. If she's going to put him on the spot like this, Jack thinks she needs to sweat a little bit. Of course, he has his own ways of making her sweat…Things heat up in the kitchen, against the wall, on the floor and over the stove. After all, just desserts can be sweet…and spicy.

Leaving Mama by Bobbie Cole

ISBN: 1-59998-032-0 Length: Novel Price: $5.50 Genre: Mainstream/Women's Fiction Date: May 30th, 2006

Sometimes the only way to find your way home is to leave. Smoking weed while perched on top of her grandmother's coffin in the middle of a downpour was not how Jillian had seen the trip from Oklahoma to Minnesota as happening. With flights canceled and the airline employees striking, she had no choice but to improvise and use her rock band's hearse. And when Gran exits the hearse after the tires skid on a rain slick highway and the back door flies open, Jillian decides to make the best of the moment. Things only get worse when they arrive in Minnesota and her oldest sister, Shari, has a stroke at the memorial service. Toss in the fact that their grandmother had led two lives—there was a whole other family they'd known nothing about waiting for them in Minnesota—and life suddenly becomes more complicated.

Magic Maven Jami Bevan's first novel, Celestial Dragon was just released! YAY!!!!

CHELIAN KAR is Deliphit, an outcast with supernatural powers. Though she is the daughter of the High Chancellor of Kel, Satobik laws prohibit her from having physical contact with anyone. Another Magic Maven and dear friend Rebecca Goings' latest novel, another historical just released is In Your Arms:

Lissa Bloom has been outshone by the beauty of her younger sister Shirley for years. She’s hopelessly given up on love for herself as the handsome young men of Gideon’s Gulch have never given her the time of day.
Yet when Marcus McCaide breezes through town, he threatens to upset Lissa’s lonely little world. He’s not interested in Shirley, and he’s not shy about voicing his attraction for Lissa. But he’s admitted to not being the marrying kind, telling Lissa that he’d only break her heart.
When the elderly Dr. Newcomb asks for Lissa’s hand in marriage, she sorrowfully accepts, knowing it’s the only offer she’ll ever get. Yet will Marcus be able to let go of his demons long enough to realize he’s in love with her? And will he be able to convince Lissa that she belongs in his arms before it's too late?
