Just another week

Finally it's over. I didnt get much accomplished this week. Not as much as I should've. I was too preoccupied procrastinating to do any actual work. Then yesterday my 81-year-old grandmother, Nanny Ann had gall bladder surgery. I’ve had the procedure myself a couple of years ago so I knew it wasn’t a big deal. I did have major issues though when the surgeon planned, scheduled and performed the operation in an outpatient surgical center. HELLO!!! The woman is 81! There is a chance for all kinds of complications! I mean when I had mine done a short stay bumped into longer because of some complications so…

But no. Within an hour of her being wheeled into recovery she was getting check out instructions from the nurse. The lady asked if we had any questions and my Nanny looks up at her and says. “I have one. The last time I had surgery, when I came home I found out I was pregnant. Is that a possible complication this time as well?”

After wiping tears from our eyes and controlling the spasmodic laughing pain we got her dressed and taken home. I took my DD for lunch then we came home so I could tend to dogs, get some chores done and head over to Nanny’s house. When we arrived we found the old girl had refused to cooperate with my mother and lay down. She was moving and walking and bending (all things she wasn’t supposed to be doing!) Then the discussion arose of who was to stay the night with her. (The plan had been my mom and my DD have a small PJ party with my Nanny and if I could get away I’d come back after I fed my DH dinner) She practically threw us out, insisting that she didn’t need a babysitter.

God love her, Nanny is forever complaining that we NEVER come to see her and now when it was being planned arranged for people to come and stay she practically threw us out! Well my DD was running a fever so I went ahead and brought her home with me but my mom did stay. I’m sure Nanny is doing fine since she refuses be taken care of or take care of herself but we are all pretty stubborn (wonder where that came from?) we’ll still be alternating visiting her.

Well I gotta boogie. Tonight is the thing up at the school and I’m trying to get myself all ready to go.

Huggles until next time!
Donica

nWish I could've been there at the school. I should've let you know ahead of time to say HI! to everybody for me. Hope you had a terrific time! Betty J in OKC
