I was having personal issues yesterday so I decided the best way to get myself up was to get out. I grabbed my DD as soon as she came home from school and headed to the movies. While there I also purchased tickets for my best friend and I to see RV.

So instead of working (sh! Don’t tell my editor) I watched Scary Movie 4. If you have never seen these movies, well, hmmm….LOL I can’t say these are the best movies ever made. Now don’t get me wrong it was funny, in a tasteless sort of way. I always enjoyed spoof movies and Scary Movie’s are really excellent at that. But I have to be honest, despite the mindless hour + if I’d had to pay more than one dollar to see this movie (our local theater is celebrating 100 years in business so all movies were a dollar yesterday) I’d have been angry.

Then my DH came to pick up DD while I waited on best friend to arrive for the second movie. She arrived we went in and got our popcorn and soda, (holy cow! I can’t believe how much that stuff has gone up! I can buy an entire day’s worth of three meals and snacks for my family for the cost of popcorn and soda!)

So we got settled in our seats, cracking jokes and giggling waiting for the movie to begin. RV had me rolling in the aisles! I swear that was one of the funniest movies I’ve EVER seen! I’d have gone and seen it a second time!

While we were in the theater the sound of the thunder and rain could be heard over the speakers. The movie ended, we hit the ladies lounge and as we were walking to the doors the power went out. The building and parking lot were so dark; finally the building’s generator must have kicked on so that lit up the lot some.

The stop and go lights were working but most places were completely blacked out. When I got home my DH was all “Bout time you got home! Where you been?” Umm hello? He met me at the movies to pick up my DD, he knew I was seeing a second movie….???? Where did he think I was? “It took me longer to get away from my boyfriend than I thought it would.” LOL Power was finally restored around….midnight? Not sure. It stormed off and on all nigh.

So rather than working or anything equally useful I did nothing. I have had a few ideas for moving a book forward, I think I just need to back off a little and rest.

I’m finally going away for the weekend coming up Friday. I’m going to Arkansas! I have to go down, bug bomb our trailer, clean it up inside and out and get the yard brush hogged. Gotta have it ready to open for the season! WOOHOOO!!!! Summer in the Arkansas Hills!!!!

The best thing about being there, no phone! It has electricity and running water but phones are a non-option. I have the cell in case of emergency but I love the privacy and the tranquility.

I already have the summer events pretty much planned. Despite the insane cost of gas I’m going to head off as much as I can. I need the escape, the freedom.

Well anyway, sorry I’m rambling.

I’m going to say goodbye for today, need to make sure I try and earn my pay today. Hope you all have a great week!
