I did however hear a great story; a lady I met recently told me she and her daughter had never been out on black Friday so they decided to go, just to see what it was like. They came to an agreement, whenever they met a crabby person, they'd hold up their hand and shout out a number. People would stop and stare at them as if they'd escaped the loony bin. When they were asked what they were doing, they answered honestly, and they were usually rewarded with a smile. This sounds like something my best friend, Kara, and I would do. Unfortunately K now works in retail (as I once did) and she isn't able to go out and give this a try.
My DH and I were going through the ads yesterday (I know I mentioned in a previous post I detest commercialism of the time) looking for certain items my daughter has been pleading for all year long. This wonderful man was up by 4 a.m. and dressed to go out and hit the stores for some of the sales for, just so I wouldn't have to get all stressed and be counted among the crabby numbers. He is however a rat to a point because when I asked what he did purchase for ourdarling daughter he replied, "Stuff". I wanted to see the "stuff" and he said, "I've already hidden it. Now this either means he failed to purcahse the things I specified, OR he found something for me while he was out. Either option makes me a tad uncomfotable. I already received my gift from him, a lovely pair of amethyst and gold earrings (I purchased them while out on my trip to Branson with his credit card,
Guessing which witch is which:
My new series I'm working on, the witches, I used my mother and three aunts as a basis for the characters. No I'm not saying these fine ladies are witches, I used their personality traits. And let me tell you this has caused quite a stir among them. They have been demanding to know which one is which witch. I've had a BLAST refusing to tell them. I offered them a deal, they would read the little blurbs I have on my website and email me with their guess and when we get together for the big family Thanksgiving feast on Saturday I would reveal the answer. So far only 2 of the aunts have hazard a guess. I have told them all if they don't send me an a guess I won't reveal the answer. They aren't keeping their bargain, so I won't be obligated to keep mine. One of the two who has answered are now threatening me with physical harm if I don't tell. She tried everything to coax it out of me, "will you tell me if I at least got me right?" then she pulled "I bet you don't even know" umm HELLO! I'm writing the books! LOL I love a good suspense: will the others send me a guess? Will I have to run for my life when my two littliest aunts don't get the answer they want? Will the feast of the day slow me down? Tune in next week for the next installment of As the Aunts Turn....
