Old Blue eyes and the King himself each sang about how they did it “my way”. The song came from the French Comme d'habitude and when Paul Anka heard it for the first time he decided to fly to Paris and negotiate the rights for the song.
According to Wiki-pedia My Way is one of the most common songs at British Funerals. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Way_(song))
So why this sudden burst of useless trivia? Today is National My Way Day.
How is this opposed to any other day? In this increasingly “Me First" world My Way Day is every single day of the week all year long.
Does it bother you that this world is so full of selfish, spoiled, me first the rest of the world can go to hell, brats? It bugs me. You know that a local television station has a “Do the Right Thing” reward program just to spotlight the occasional act of kindness offered by a kid? How pathetic is that?
I’m not saying rewarding someone for doing something right is a bad thing. It’s just a real pity that it has to be done this way! One person helping another out of the kindness of their heart is such a rare occasion that it has to be put in a spotlight.
I don’t know about you all but I miss the old days. The days when kids said please, thank you, excuse me, yes ma’am (sir), no ma’am (sir). When a man held the door for a lady, or gave up his seat. When people as a whole had respect for one another. I fear that time is long gone and there is no turning back time…
