Long and tiring weekend

Man what a weekend. I had my book signing on Saturday and once I got over the jitters it was great. My only regret is that I didn't think to have my picture taken with my best friend Kay and my closest bud Ronni. Both were angels and showed for my signing--as did my cousin Linda--who I also spaced on getting a picture with! Lard love a duck I was more out of it then I originally realized.

After the signing we did our girls of the family thing--they took me out for Mexican as a celebration of my big day! I was gone from about noon thirty until nearly 8 pm. Then I had to make a cheesecake for my little Alyx's birthday. She LOVED it!

It was so funny, I said "I guess Elisi has to make you a cheesecake for every birthday now huh?" she got so excited she was giggling and bouncing in her chair. After that, each time I said cheesecake she was just completely bonkers! It was GREAT. Of course now I'm going to have to bake a cheesecake at least once a year!

Over the weekend I also heard from my AMAZING editor Cindy. WE're going to start edits on Chase here shortly. Yay!(yes that was sarcastic) I'm only saying it that way because I'm a little burnt out. I haven't really had a chance to be working on new material because I've been buried under edits. I have three releases this yhear (Storm's is in only a few weeks!) Then Chase and I'm sure by the time I'm finished with his edits I'm going to be diving into edits for Noella's Gift.

While having so many releases is AWESOME, it's also exhausting. I just haven't had much time to write. They say every dream has its price and this is the price for being an author. I truly do love my profession, it just gets tiring after a while.

Well, while I wait for edits I'm going to see if I' can't get back into writing mode!

I wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by my table Saturday! I was thrilled to meet some very nice people. I'm really glad I was able to spend a couple of minutes talking to you!

Thank you also to mom, Marty, Judy, Jo, Traci, Linda, Ronnie, Kara, Casey, Bob, Daddy, and Karen for taking time to come and see me at the store.

A HUGE thanks to Deborah, the CRM at Fenton's Barnes and Noble. She was the BEST! I absolutely adore her and am most grateful for all the hard work and effort she put into making my book signing the success it was. And to all the employees of the store: thank you for your time! I had a BLAST and I'd love to come again!

I did miss out on the home coming at the Academy though. I had so much to do before Saturday that I just had to miss the Friday night festivities. I really wanted to be there so I could see my buddy Mark Ammons and all of the rest of the Academy alumni. Maybe next time!

I still haven't had my cell phone turn up. I'm wondering where I spaced and put it. Maybe it will show up this week--I hope so! All my most important information was on it!

Well, I better boogie on down the I'net!
hugz!
Donica
