Finally working, YAY!

As all of you who have been following me--THANKS VERY MUCH--knows, I've been struggling with my writing for months. I was standing in the shower and an idea hit me.

Would you like to see the opening? Okay, you got it:

Jack Mason stood frozen in place. Beth Walters crossed the parking lot and opened the trunk of a blue sedan parked across the aisle from him. Fate had done it. It had finally reunited them on the same path. After twenty years she was his again. He watched as she carelessly tossed her sun-streaked medium blond hair over her shoulder. It was longer now, but he’d recognize the shade anywhere.
She turned to the side and he glimpsed her perfect face. Twenty years and she hadn’t aged a day. How was it possible? He took a few tentative steps closer. Maybe she had changed a little. She’d gained a few pounds, not that it mattered. Beth had needed to add weight to her one hundred nothing pounds back in those days. Always obsessed with the fear of getting fat she ate little to nothing most days of the week.
She climbed into the dark blue sedan parked near by.
He jumped into his pickup parked across the aisle from her and after she backed out of her spot, he dropped in behind her.
All along the short drive to the quiet little neighborhood, he remembered the time he and Beth shared together. The way her face would light with joy whenever he appeared. The teasing, coy manner she played shy. The way she heated beneath his touch. His Beth.
She pulled into the short drive of a white and brick house. The front walk was dotted with annuals blooming in a myriad of colors.
A garden of many roses bloomed in front of the house. His Beth had always loved flowers but roses were her favorite.
She grabbed a grocery bag from the back of the car and headed for the front door.
He couldn’t control himself any longer. He had to be with her. After twenty years you’d have thought his love for her would have died. It hadn’t. It only grew stronger with each passing day. Now he was here and she was within arms reach. She’d be his again. No matter what.
“Hello Beth,” he said as he stepped up beside her. “My Beth,” he whispered as he placed his hand on her arm.

Maybe working on this project will get my blood flowing to my brain and I can finish Hunting Mickey and Ember's Flame. Keep your fingers crossed!

Hugz All!
