HO HO HUH?

I've forgone my T13 for this week. I just had to comment on the article I read.

Santas warned 'ho ho ho' offensive to women

Santa is no longer allowed to say HO HO HO in Sydney Australia. Why? Because it can offend women. Ummm WTF??? Santa has ALWAYS said HO HO HO. Why are people up in arms over this? I was dying to say maybe the ones who are offended are so because it hits close to home...but I was nice and held it back.

There are FAR too many other things in this world to get worked up over. How about poverty? War? Senseless murder? Child molestation? Drugs? Any of these things ring bells?

Oh wait! I might offend someone by saying ring bells. Let's stop and back it off a few thousand miles shall we? There are just so many other things more important to deal with.

Yes I've had a week that would've been best to have slept through. My book Betraying Chase--yes the second Gateway Guardians series book--was rejected. Yeah. Talk about major pain. I LOVE this book, even more than Justice. More than I loved any of hte other ones I've done. The editor basically couldn't stand my characters. I don't know what to do next. I've got an email in to her to ask her about revisions but if she isn't interested what do I do? Without Betraying Chase there is no series. Its the middle book. The one that wraps up book one and spins into book three.

And because of the confidence I had in this book, how positive I felt it would be a success, I now find myself doubting my own opinion. Am I so far off? How could I feel it was so great and be told it wasn't good? Why is one editor saying praises and the next not so much?

Until I get the word that she wants to see it redone I'm leaving it to the side. If she says she doesn't want to see it even reworked then...I dunno.

Gotta head off and take care of some emails and then stare dumbly into a word document.

Huggles and HO HO HO

Ooh, yeah. That IS a hard one. Why the switch in editors? Sounds like the subjectivity of the business caught you up good.
