Callye's Justice is now available! YAY! Have you gotten your copy yet? No? What are you waiting for? Okay enough of that--for now. Of course, I had to do another T13 about CJ so I'm going to be sharing random things with you.
1. Callye's Justice originally started out as a book about a Special Forces team. Somehow, it slowly changed into what you see today. Will I do a spec op unit romance? Most likely. I just need to find the right story to fit.
2. In the original story the heroine's name was Brionna Montgomery. This surname was usedfor the heroine’s name in Betryaing Chase (book two of the series).
3. In Callye's Justice there are specific weapons used by Justice, the unit, and the bad guys. Consequebntly I now know the calibers of five different Glock models. I also know the lands, grooves and twists used to identify these guns.
4. Justice's physical stats are based on Rob Morrow. As are some of his mannerisms.
5. Though not specifically told, Callye's occupation is a graphics art designer for a small ad agency.
6. Callye's sister is Valerie. In the book I specify that she hates to have her name shortened to Val. This is a nod to friend (and fellow bat) Valerie Parv. (Call her Val at your own risk!)
7. The original score for Callye's Justice video was I’d Die for you by Bon Jovi.
8. The original music for the series video was Sonata Arctica's Ain't Your Fairy Tale.
9. The soundtrack for Callye's Justice included songs from Carpenters (gotta have that lovely crooning voice of Karen's. Perfect for love!) Bon Jovi, Queen, Sonata Arctica, Nightwish, Abba, Heart, Billy Conrad (a great bar band from Milwaukee!), Cheap Trick and the Eagles.
10. One of the villians, Jarold Abrahms, in Callye's Justice was based on a cop I knew on the local police department when I was a teen. He was the world's biggest ass. (Thankfully, he’s no longer there!)
11. The areas outside of St. Louis described in Callye's Justice were on places in and around Arnold MO.
12. Sandzis is not an actual restaurant in St. Louis. But the boats The Becky Thatcher and the Tom Sawyer are real. (They're actually kind of cool to tour.)
13. The cobblestones that Justice parked on when he took Callye to Sandzis are real. It's an imteresting little parking area. It sits at an angle between the lawn of the Arch and the river. The angle of it makes me uncomfortable to park on. One of my biggest fears is being trapped in my truck underwater. But the view is incredible and the sound of the water is soothing.
As an added bit of trivia, this graphic is the actual DEA St. Louis emblem. It can't be used on books or anything (unfortunately. How cool would it look in a button size image on the book cover?!?!?!!?) but I LOVE the graphic.
