While I wait for the new release date of Storm I decided to spend some time talking about paranormal things.
Have you ever had something strange happen to you that you just can’t explain? I know I’ve had several encounters that I’ve not been able to come up with a rational explanation for. Other than the obvious of course. Some are more unnerving than others. And some are merely coincidence.
An example of a coincidental happening would be this: while writing my very first published novel, Hawk’s Rayne, I spent a bit of time outside on the deck with a notepad and pen and was busy scribbling away. A shadow passed overhead and when I looked up I found a large red tailed hawk soaring above me. This was the first time I’d seen him before and each day when I went outside to work he’d just show up flying lazy circles above my head.
He became a fixture for me. Even when I wasn’t working I‘d spot him outside looping around, hunting for his meals. But I found it amusing that when I’d begun writing a novel where the hero was a shape shifter who could become a hawk at will a real hawk would show up and keep me company.
I named this bird Flint and I truly enjoyed seeing his magnificent figure in the sky or roosting in a tree in our yard. The book flowed like water, practically writing itself as I heard Flint’s voice in my ear telling me the story of his love. It almost seemed as if Flint had come to life off the screen and was watching over me, guiding me.
I still see my hawk friend, though not as frequently as in those days and I still feel a sense of wonder when I see him floating on the air currents.
I’ll be back tomorrow with more!

Donica
