I'm still here, I think

I spent the entire of Saturday in bed with a migraine. Whenever the weather fronts change my head explodes.
Saturday my DH had gone to his sister's for a few and when he came home I said, "we're having a storm."
Him: "Who said so"
DD : "mom's head."
That night we had a nice thunderstorm roll through. Then Sunday I felt like garbage but needed groceries so my mother and I went shopping. I felt all yucky and draggy and my head was killing me. Mom dropped me off at home and I put my stuff away but I still needed to run down the street to the other store (much cheaper prices on everyday needs)
DH: "No stay home. Weather is getting bad."

Me: "I know dear but I need to get the rest of the groceries."

Him: "I don’t care, do it tomorrow."

I'm thinking ok my writing time is weekdays, I don’t have time to run all over creation I have to work, "I can't I'm too busy. I'll be right back."

At the store I'm shopping and I hear the rain begin to fall. At the check out the power goes out and comes back and I hear someone make a gasping sound. Ever see the horror films where the walls breathe? Well the glass windows at the front of the store are BREATHING in and out; deep. My cell rings.

DH: "Where are you?"

Me: "Checkout"

Him: "Get somewhere safe and stay there. Tornado's been reported."

I look at the checkout girl. Now I have to say my DH and I have never been ones to freak out. I love storms and he just thinks he's superman so for him to call and sound all weird made me nervous. "Have you got a storm cellar here?" I ask the checkout gal.

The girl looks at me funny and looks outside, "Um no."

"Great." Suddenly it looks to be loosening a bit so I finish my stuff and head outside. (Never said I was smart...) It's raining in sheets there was a tree in the parking lot that was now on someone's car. But I think I can make it home. Umm wrong answer.

A cart rack and a full load of carts was blown into the underside of my truck. It's pouring but I want to go home. In the rain I push the rack and carts enough out of the way I can back out of the spot. Hands on the metal lightening crackles and a thunderboom busts the sky. Running to my truck I get back in and start to leave. Two feet later I can't see. Park and run for shelter as the sirens sound again. I'm running to the store when something hit me in the head. Make it inside, looking like a drowned rat and hurting like my head is on fire.

The only man in the store decides to bark orders, "everyone in the hall they say there is a huge rotation spotted. Get down on your knees and cover your heads."

I get on my knees for no man, besides my jeans are fresh from the washing machine wet so I couldn't get down if I tried.

My head is pounding and I feel sick and some lady asks if I'm all right. Teeth chattering and shaky I reply yes. Finally it's over and the 6-minute drive home took me almost 20. Between the rain, the other drivers and my windshield being foggy I was lost.

I'm fine, no permanent damage just a nice knot on my head. Still not sure what hit me but I'm grateful it was my head. Anywhere else and I'd have been hurt.

All reports after the storm say it was not a tornado but severe rotating winds (sorry weather people but rotation to me is still a tornado.) I know it has to touch down to be qualified as one but still...

Anyway I survived. How was y’alls weekend?
