That little red bar over to the left of the screen hasn't moved one iota. Pretty good reason for that, I haven't hade time to work on Ember. I went through my first round of edits and rewrites and just sent those off an hour or so ago. Hallalujah they are done. I'm sure it won't be long before Trace has round two out ready for me to tackle.

The one thing I really truly hate about being a writer is (no I wasn't going to say editors, GBG) edits. I am the type of writer who has to start at the very beginning and work straight through without looking back or else I get hung up. (I think I've mentioned that special little quirk only about hmmm one million times!) But when I get edits back it makes me have to go back through the book from beginning to end and look it all over very closely. I had to get used to getting edits that weren't in order.

This last round for instance I got chapter 10 in edits first. Then was told to cut out the first 70 pages of the book, then chapter 7....talk about a minor stroke! I wanted to scream. It threw me off my game completely.

But I cut out the first seven chapters, brought in that information in flashback scense where it was needed, and rewrote the remaining chapters so I was able to do it in my order. I just hope I don't get many more I want to love the book not end up hating the very sight of it.

Well off to see if I can find the muse to work on Ember today.
