Another Week

has begun and I'm finally excited about writing again! Maryna has been trucking along so nicely. That's the reason my blog posts were so few and far between last week. I was busy writing 116 pages in one week!!! WOOOHOOOOO

I also had some major ideas for Ember and I think she'll be easier to write once I incorporate those ideas. I know I seem to be a roller coaster ride of contradictions; I'm blocked and I can't write, it's moving freely and I have diarrhea of the muse. Tell you what, I'll take the museahrea any time!In Maryna's story, one of her closest friends is the god Eros so I thought for today's DID YOU KNOW I'd write a little something about him.

Did You Know: Eros is the Greek god of love, lust, and sex. It is his name that the word erotica was born from. Eros is the son of Ahrodite and Ares. He is often depicted in art as a gloriously handsome man with a quiver of arrows and a bow. His Roman equivalent is cupid and identified as the companion or infant son of Venus the Roman goddess of Love. This image is where the idea for the Valentine’s Day cupid's was born. Eros is also on occasion depicted in art as wearing a blindfold because love is blind.

The legend of Cupid and Psyche inspired one of my favorite works of art. In the legend Aphrodite was so jealous of the mere mortal Psyche’s beauty that she commanded Cupid (Eros) to make her fall in love with the ugliest man on earth. But when he saw her, he immediately fell in love with her himself. He carried her away to his home, but jealousy made their love face many trials. To me this is a story that can be applied to the love life of any couple. You may fall madly, passionately in love and vow to be together for all eternity. But once that honeymoon is over you see how hard real life is and only by relying on your love can you all make it through the hard times.

Ok I'm off for today, gotta get back on that writing roll! Hopefully If I can pull away tomorrow, I'll see you then!

Huggles and HAPPY READING!
Donica
