Blurgh

They announced the winners early! And of course, I didn't make the cut. I spent a good part of the evening crying, feeling low and then I thought well Poop! They refused my book "Dante's Duty" and it hit the best selling catagory for my publisher and has remained there! They rejected "Seeing the Light" and it has also enjoyed top sales status. So, Harlequin is not the be all end all of romance. They choose not to select my writing, fine. Who needs them anyway? There are other publishing houses out there. Ones who haven't shown a recent history of shifting horses in midstream. Ones that haven't killed off fan favorite imprints. And although yes I'd LOVE to one day see my books inside a book store, to set up book signings at the local ones, I like E-Books! They are so much easier to carry. I can have an entire library on one small electronic device. I have mine on my desktop, but then I transfer them to my PDA. I can keep my entire eBook library on my PDA and it only weighs about 2 oz? or so.

Would I ever leave Ebook even if I hit the golden ring of the big girl NY houses? Nope. Let's be honest people, Ebooks are here to stay.

And anohter good thing about this loss? I can now focus on the second in my witch series, and already Ember has taken flight in my imagination. Maybe one day I'll come back to this story, I mean you can't ignore a man in uniform for long. But I have a duty to my girls. They are my first priority. I lost sight of that.

When I was working on Storm, the first witch, I did a "Did you know" segment about witches in history and fiction. I may do more of that, but I may also introduce you all to the world of Volcanology. "No this isn't the study of Mr. Spock's home planet) I'm no expert on Vocanoes, but I've learned some VERY interesting facts during my research and I'll be sharing this information with you as I write Ember's story.

Hope you'll check back in with me!

Huggles and Happy Reading,
Donica
